Field Trip to the Waterfall

Hey Everyone! Want to hear something very exciting? Well, on Tuesday, May 13, 2008, my class grade 5 had a field trip to Gunung Pancar. It’s not that far from our school. The purpose of going there is to learn about our UOI topic, fragile environment. We got there by bus until we got to a small road that the bus couldn’t fit in. So we started walking.

I got really excited when we walked. At first, it wasn’t tiring at all. It was pretty much an amazing adventure. We walked for about an hour and a half. There were many thorns along the way. Steps by steps, it started to get more tiring. Especially with carrying our bags all the way! Some of us kept strong. They keep on going and going as if there’s no such thing as tired in their dictionary. I wasn’t one of them. All I want that time was rest!

It’s about almost an hour, we finally got a place to seat! I felt so relaxed. My knees are so tired, I don’t think I could make it to the waterfall. Some would go cheering, some would complain. Plus, it was a very very hot day!! Even thought we rested, many sweats still comes out. It was very horrible for the ones that didn’t wear any hat.

When we finally arrived at the waterfall, boy oh boy, IT WAS AMAZING! I felt so grateful to see fresh, pure, and very cold water. More than half the class just go in to the water. What an amazing SPLASH of water it was! We swam with our PE clothes. All of us brought a change so that we won’t get sick. It was hard to change our clothes since we got really wet and it’s quite hard to make it really dry.

After all of us changed, we started packing and went to a shelter that we could sit in and have our lunch. Our food taste so delicious after all of the journey. We started asking questions to the people that took a very good care of the waterfall right after we finished eating. All of us were being an inquirer. We were really curious what it was the waterfall like 5 years ago. There were 4 people that we could interviewed with. They said that the waterfall hasn’t change a bit since they first saw it. I was amazed.

I got really amazed because I would thought the water would felt even colder 5 years ago. They also said that the pure water 5 years ago are still the same. The second thing that I was amazed with is that there used to be more than a hundred eagles flying. The place used to be a forest and there were monkeys and pigs. What makes me even amazed is that they said the place is bought to a man that’s going to make the place into a parking lot!

After the questions that we took, we finally have to go back to the bus, and to school. We took another way to get to the bus. It was a longer way and it was more tiring. Some of the times I would say “I couldn’t take anymore”. There were more rocks and more slippery ways. We got a little rest in front of someone’s house that lived around there. We saw many chicken and goats. Good thing we didn’t saw a pig (it would be cute though)!

The second rest that we took is under many trees. It wasn’t as hot. There we were announced that we still got about 500 more steps to go. One or two of my friends count it. I’m just too tired to count that time. On the way, me and Amanda also prayed so that we can get to the bus safely, and good thing WE DID! It felt so free that we had arrived to the bus.

We all took our seats directly and started complaining and talking, and MORE talking. It was such an amazing, interesting, tiring field trip I have ever had yet!

I couldn’t imagine having another one, at least when the sun is not that hot!

Yet, there were more complaining because the air conditioner didn’t work. We started opening up the windows to get some good air. As soon as the bus is ready to go, the driver started driving back to school. We got a really long rest since we got so so tired.
